Description:-
An all time classic that can be extended as required. It works just as well in both directions, though clockwise seems to be the most popular option. However anti-clockwise offers a panoramic approach to the Beacons and a long rocky descent with loads of ruts and rock dodging. If you decide to go anti-clockwise on a busy weekend you will have the added bonus of scaring all the walkers to death.
A modest day out in Summer, in Winter this can be a desperate epic and the severity of the outing should not be under estimated.
The surface is mostly rocky with some bog and grass velcro on the northern bridleway sections - easily avoided by taking to the road if necessary.
