Description:-
A pleasant, easy outing into the Black Wood of Rannoch, all on good forestry tracks, but with a feeling of remoteness none the less.
Start at one of the numerous laybys and parking places on the south side of Loch Rannoch near the Dall Estate.
Cycle along the public road in front of the estate as far as Camgourhan and cross the bridge over the burn (Tag 1). Turn left up a well made track past a few houses until a locked deer fence gate is reached (T2). Use the ladder stile to get bikes over fence and into the forest. Carry on up the glen with the burn down in a gorge to the left. Exit the forest onto open ground and follow track to junction. Turn left and over the burn on a bridge (T4) again to another locked deer fence gate. You can squeeze bikes through the pedestrian gate.
Follow forestry tracks through the open, cleared, forest, climbing to a summit. The track then returns to the Dall estate descending all the way to another burn (T6) Either return back to the road by turning left or turn right and exit through the old abandoned Rannoch School back to the start.
