Overall - a good day out, in 4 parts. Pt 1 - climb to the loch. Forestry work has made this rutted (like several miles of cattle-grid!). Luckily there is a smooth central section most of the time. Pt ... read whole comment...

Great trails! Steady first climb on firetrail followed by great, well-maintained single-track walkers paths. Second main climb again on good firetrails is a long one but rewarded by a super fast freew... read whole comment...

Description:-
from starting point to small Hill Lock the route is all forestry road, although very gritty and loose gravel and stones, a bit of a long slog gradually climbing all the way.
crossing over the main hill is a single trail cutting through steep rentrants, with some wooden bridges/walkways, small part of the route takes you along a tarmac road after Lochgilphead village although this is a fairly quiet stretch and only takes about 15 to 20 minutes, after this its back onto forestry road for another uphill slog, this surface is a little more bumpy and the stones are a little bigger than on normal forestry roads which makes this climb a little more challenging, once you reach the top at the Rest and Be Thankfull its a smooth downhill ride back to the start.
