Description:-
Circuit starting from Crathie and continuing south along forest roads through the Balmoral estate. A steady climb for the first 10km towards Lochnagar, the path then splits and turns right up a rocky path up to a plateau between Meikle Pap and Lochnagar. A rocky climb up to the ridge to the left leads onto Lochnagar path that has stunning views over the cliffs to the right hand side. The path follows the ridge and then has a short climb up and over the access to Cac Carn Beag summit. The first descent of the day take you over to another ridge path which passes Loch Nan Eun on your right hand side. The path levels out and is a fairly fast single track which continues for about a mile then starts down the side of Carn An t-Saigairt Beag. The path splits at the bottom with the path on the right taking you North between Carn An t-Saigairt Beag & Mor. The path is not clearly defined and can be a bit swampy in places, but after about 400m you pass over a ridge and a rocky single track emerges. From here it is seat down as the path rattles for about 2km down towards a wooden bridge over the Feindallacher Burn. A further 1km of single track beside the burn leads onto a good forest road and about 4km of fast descent with the occasional stop to open gates. At the bottom, follow the road around to the right and it is a reasonably flat pedal along the estate roads back towards Crathie.
