From this page you can download files which are directly compatible with your own GPS device, phone, or computer mapping software. This enables you to easily take trail information out with you into the real world and have a very good chance of finding even the most obscure hard-to-find natural trails.

The site uses ‘GPS Babel’ to enable it to generate files compatible with a wide range of the most commonly used devices and softwares (e.g. Garmin, Magellan, Memory-Map, Tracklogs, and many more…). Note: www.MTBtrails.info stores all routes in the GPX format (a widely used XML based ‘open’ format which is not tied into any particular manufacturer). If you select GPX from the dropdown list you will get an exact (unconverted) copy of the file used by the site, and you may then be able to use it with the ‘import’ function of your own software. If on the other hand you select any of the other formats on the list, the original GPX file will be automatically converted for you into your chosen format.
